THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS is a film based on the original movie, made in 1936, and the novel by James Fenimore Cooper. This 1992 version is based on the book and the 1936 screenplay.
The movie won a 1993 Oscar for Best Sound as well as a 1993 BAFTA Film Award for Best Cinematography and Best Make-up Artist. Aside from winning several awards, upon release Daniel Day Lewis and this captivating love story has won the hearts of critics and movie goers everywhere. Now, more then a decade after release the film is still considered one of the greatest historical movies of all time.
